As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, the bank welcomed athlete, advocate, and author, Amazin LeThi, to address an internal Lunch & Learn event with Dolunay Grieve. The event enabled Amazin – as well as colleagues – to share their own journeys with mental health.

Amazin spoke candidly about her past experiences, highlighting the importance that context plays in shaping an individual’s wellbeing. There was also an ongoing discussion around best practices to mitigating issues with mental illness in the workplace. During the Q&A session, colleagues were able to gain insight into dealing with mental health issues, as well as identifying signs to support early intervention.

The Lunch & Learn also gave mental health charity MQ Research the chance to discuss its own work regarding mental health – educating colleagues on the important research being done within the UK to help support vulnerable people across all demographics.

This event was part of a series BACB has hosted over the past few days to support Mental Health Awareness Week. Beyond emphasising available resources and providing ways for colleagues to show support, BACB also hosted a competition for counting steps around the office, in tandem with this year’s theme of ‘Movement: moving for our mental health’
