From May to August this year, BACB joined numerous other banks – including Emirates NBD, National Bank of Egypt, and the Europe Arab Bank – to participate in the inaugural Arab Bankers Association 5-a-side Football Tournament.
This competition concluded on 9th August with the BACB team lifting the trophy after emerging victorious against the National Bank of Kuwait in a closely fought final, winning the game 17-15, BACB had beaten the Bank of New York the week prior in the semi-finals by 18 goals to 12.
The winning team was composed of colleagues Chris Ramshaw, Dominic Gorton, Dan Williams, Dan Butler, George Wood, Jonathan Afram, and Pete Hampson. Throughout the competition, the team was further supported by colleagues Gil Cohen, Arun Kamboj, Hatem Lukhai, Tobi Odugbesan, Alex Brooke, and Chris Martonfalvy.
Congratulations to the team – and to all the other participating banks! Our thanks go to the Arab Bankers Association for organising the tournament, we look forward to defending our title at next year’s competition.
