Job Summary

The Vendor Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing vendor management best practices throughout BACB. Working in partnership with the wider Third Party Management Team and business stakeholders, the Vendor Manager will provide ongoing oversight of BACB’s key vendors to deliver long term operational efficiency and financial benefits, whilst minimising business risk.

Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities

  • Provide oversight of operational partnership and oversight of key third parties, including designing and monitoring KPI’s and ensuring vendors meet contractual requirements.
  • Prepare and hold business reviews with internal stakeholders to review vendor performance, future opportunities and/or challenges.
  • Develop professional working relationships with key stakeholders from across the business to fully understand their objectives, performance issues, challenges, and opportunities for each spend category.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with strategic suppliers to ensure costs, quality and delivery targets are met.
  • Support and implement continuous improvements to the Bank’s Third Party Management policy to ensure it remains effective and in accordance with BACB standards including documenting best practices and minimum standards for managing vendors (Routines, incident management, etc.).
  • Ensure the execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures, and performance metrics to effectively and efficiently manage supplier relationships and the reporting of third-party performance across the company.
  • Manage and maintain the Bank’s contract management inventory of vendors including contract expiries and contract renewals.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and governance boards, facilitating the creation and delivery of accurate and standardised metrics /KPIs including the development of vendor scorecards.
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders, undertake annual reviews of the Bank’s Outsourced and Material Service Providers including managing BACB’s annual process for reassessing its vendors (due diligence, financial assessment and exit planning review).
  • Partner with the Bank’s Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure vendors who have access to confidential information, are categorised and assessed according to the Bank’s policies and standards.
  • Ensure that vendor issues are escalated, documented, and tracked to conclusion.
  • Support all commercial aspects of implementation including on-boarding and off-boarding of suppliers aligned with the business strategy.
  • Develop the overall culture towards vendor management as a critical function within BACB.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified preferred but not mandatory.
  • Robust individual with excellent communication, networking, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to take a pragmatic approach blending process and speed to deliver business leaders requirements.
  • Experience of working in a regulated/financial services industry (desirable).
