Job Summary
The Treasury Business Development Manager will support the Treasurer in all areas of business management across all Treasury desks and products, helping to drive business development initiatives, product enhancement, new client and counterparty acquisition, and new product approvals.
The Business Development Manager plays a key role in formulation and delivery of the Treasury strategy, aligned with overall Bank strategy. The role will be closely aligned with broader bank-wide commercial activities. This role has a dual reporting line into the Treasurer and GTB Business Development Director. The role is a certified SMCR function.
Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities
Specific Business Management
- Work with the Treasurer and across desks to set and execute Treasury Strategy.
- Work closely with the GTB Business Development Director and Commercial teams on holistic sales and relationship management strategies across BACB business offering.
- Coordinate activities across Treasury desks, Treasury Operations, Risk and other support functions.
- Develop Treasury relationships to understand customer needs and develop new or amended products.
- Drive all change initiatives for Treasury. Lead on New Product Approval, Business Requirements for system enhancements (e.g. STP, new functionalities or interface, automation of reports, liquidity & risk metrics, cash flow, etc.), build and optimise tools for risk control & measurement purposes. Lead Treasury related tasks in Bank-wide projects.
- Support the design and execution of a detailed annual business plan that is in line with the overall strategic goals of the Bank.
- Develop and oversee key management information on behalf of the Treasurer, including preparation of reports and summary documentation.
- Assist Treasurer with Balance sheet management (BSM) and Trading support, including MI, KPI, EWI, KRI, RCSA, E2E map, budget planning & tracking, trading procedures
- Ensure that BSM and Trading activities in Treasury are conducted in adherence with the Bank’s policies & procedures
Funding and Liquidity
- Manage BACB’s adherence to all regulatory liquidity requirements and internal risk metrics, as appropriate.
- Manage the effectiveness and efficiency of the BACB balance sheet.
- Own BACB’s funding and liquidity planning to support the strategic plan, including contingency funding measures.
- Contribute to the preparation of the ILAAP.
- Contribute to the credit application process to ensure relevant Treasury products and transaction types are included.
Revenue
- Assist in managing the Treasury budget with a focus on both revenues and costs.
- Document and track trading strategies across designated products.
- Support the management of BACB Investment portfolios.
- Coordinate the design and implementation of BACB hedging strategy.
- Support BSM in managing interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB).
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Senior management experience in a Bank Treasury, focused on Markets and Execution.
- Strong communication at all levels of stakeholders, decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic thinker and ability to work across various business line and stakeholders
- Clear understanding and knowledge of: - UK focussed liquidity and capital regulations (Basel III, LCR and NFSR). - Money Market, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, and Treasury products. - The Sterling Monetary Framework, the UK Money Market Code, the FX Global Code, the NIPS Code, and relevant Conduct of Business Sourcebooks (COBS).
- Excellent understanding on Treasury’s risk management and regulatory requirements.
- Experience across Middle East and African Markets desirable.
