Job Summary

Responsibility for Documentary Credit process. This includes processing, checking and signing of Letters of Credit and their respective amendment/auxiliary tasks, in line with BACB guidelines, ensuring the bank’s position is protected at all times. Required to process and/or release other types of products and communications issued by the department.

Key Work Outputs and Accountabilities

  • Act as a signatory for the Bank (at appropriate level) which would include processing, checking and signing Letters of Credit and their amendments
  • Ensuring LOC's are processed in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with relevant ICC rules, all within agreed timescales to provide the highest quality services possible to customers
  • Compliance with Bank requirements as well as liaising with other departments as and when required
  • Acts as a source of reference to all clients and counter parties
  • Ensures that customers receive an efficient and professional service
  • Provides training and mentorship to new staff
  • Ensuring any issues are resolved efficiently and professionally maintaining a high standard of customer service

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 2 -3 years experience in Letter of Credit process, within a similar team
  • Exposure to issuance and settlement and relative ICC rules.
  • Qualified CDCS preferred
  • Demonstrates a level of understanding of the relevant aspects of foreign trade for the Bank.
  • Strong communication skills with a high level of numeracy, literacy, accuracy and attention to detail
